Gonzo's Quest is inspired by the story of Gonzalo Pizarro and takes you back to the year 1510. Your ship is anchored right before an island of the coast of Peru where the legendary treasure of Eldorado is supposed to be hidden. In the middle of the night, Gonzo decides to steal the treasure map out of the captain’s hut and goes off to find the treasure for himself. And that’s just the cutscene that introduces you to the theme of the slot. The famous Eldorado treasure, that was part of the Inca’s wealth, is supposed to be very valuable. That’s why you’ll regularly see ancient Inca elements appear in the slot. The symbols that are featured on the reels consist out of seven different Inca masks.
In addition to the seven Inca masks, there are two additional symbols that make the game very exciting. As soon as you land a winning combination on the reels, all stone Inca masks will shatter. Afterward, the empty spots are filled from above with new pieces. As opposed to many other slots, Gonzo’s Quest makes use of the falling masks as blocks that stack on each other.
After you had a win, you will also trigger a multiplier. This multiplier starts off by doubling your winnings, but can be increased (2x, 3x) up to a factor of x5. When the new blocks that replace the shattered masks trigger a new winning combination, the multiplier will increase.
Gonzo’s Quest also doesn’t lack a classic wild symbol. Here, the wild acts as a wildcard and replaces any other symbol in the game.
